The Press Conference was conducted at Congress Headquarters.
"Please take him away," the minister said after the missile was thrown at him.Congress party workers immediately took the white turbaned journalist away.
The journalist was sitting in first row and deliberately missed his target i.e. the minister as he just wanted to protest by symbolicaly throwing a shoe at the minister but not hurting him

Over jagdish Tytler issue .... well Congress deserved it ... 25 years and only a handful of ppl caught or jailed .... far greater no of ppl and bigger ppl have been caught in Guj riots.
Congress cud have easily gone for a clean sweep riding on inefficacy of BJP but first supporting Dynasty bootlicker Shivraj patil and then supporting Tytler, is going to cost them dearly.
Why is Jagdish Tytler so important to them ?? Can anyone throw some light on it.

This is not good. Chidambaram is not a bad man. If he had to throw it, he should have thrown it on previous home minister. Ehh.. forgot his name :D

The Home Minister was referring to the CBI clean chit to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots when the journalist, Jarnail Singh, asked him a question.
When Chidambaram averted the question, Jarnail Singh threw a shoe at him. However, the shoe narrowly missed hitting Chidambaram.

ya that is true...this all ministry should change it all .. what are they all doing? see these who died in bomb blast..this is not a first time in Asam ..they should take serious decision.

The Congress party has as always ridden rough over Sikh sentiments. Tytler and Sajjan Kumar have been fielded again and again even though every time the same script is played out. This arrogance and disconnect with people is one reason why the Congress is today less than 1/3 of what it was.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt what Jarnail did was inexcusable because journalists are supposed to be neutral. But are they? Would they have reacted in the ssame manner had the shoe been thrown at Varun Gandhi?
